Cookie Proceeds 2017

As on March 15 our troop sold 7,513 cookies! Our troop sold the most in the Highroads Service Unit. Great job Scouts and Parents! We can’t tell you how much we appreciate everyone our Girl Scout family.

  • The average sale per girl was 199.7 (pre-sales + booth + other)
  • 29 girls sold over 100 boxes
  • 19 girls sold over 200 boxes
  • 5 girls sold over 300+ boxes
  • We sold about 1,400 boxes at booth sales


So what are we going to do with the proceeds?

On average each girl brought in $177.94. We are breaking down our proceeds into brackets.

$100/$150/$200 allowances for upcoming trips. Some of proceeds will be used to cover the overhead of the troop. Badges are the most costly item that we purchase. Badges that we purchase from the Girl Scout store range from $2 to $8. I think our last patch purchase was over $200.

If a camping trip cost $100. We would ask the parents to pay 20% ($20) and the troop proceeds money would cover the other 80% $80. If you sign up for a trip and don’t show up we would ask you to cover the full expensive of the trip. In the example, the scout would still have $20 in their proceeds account to cover some of the fees from another event. If you daughter would like to attend the Munster Day Camp or one of the Girl Scout Camps in the summer you can use your proceeds toward those fees as well. Ideally, we would like girls to go with the troop but scheduling is a challenge with sports and other family activities.

How many cookies did my Scout sell?

In the past, we would give a straight dollar amount off outing to all the girls in the troop. We understand all the girls have different interest. Sometimes families have plans on the day of a troop outing. We want to girl the girls some options this year so we developed the allowance plan.

What's Planned?
We are planning a Camp Tecumseh trip, American Girl Lunch, Aladdin Theatre Day, Planetarium overnight, and some other Camping Days. Dates will posted soon! Please note that some of these outings will extend into fall. Camp Tecumseh will most likely be in August. We could only cram so many things into a summer :)

What if I register for event but can't attend at the last minute?
The full cost of the event will be deducted from your scouts proceeds.

What if I don't use the money by the deadline?
We want scouts to use the money for activities. Please talk to the leaders if you have questions.
