Friday, February 26th Meeting

Hello,

A few reminders for the meeting on Friday

Poodle girls receive at Tea Party
  • Bring any cookie money you collected. If you need cookies let us know ASAP we are picking up more cookies on Thursday.
  • Bring the registration for the Fluffin to the 50's Tea Party ($20) to the meeting. The event is on April 2nd. If you can't bring registration to the meeting you could drop it off to the address on the form. The event is open to the first 80 girls that turn in a registration form. It's a popular event that books up quickly. Girls don't need a poodle skirt to attend.
  • We are asking all Girl Scout Families to volunteer one shift at the Fun Fair. We use the space at Merkley and the school does not charge us a rental fee. We will have a signup at the meeting. You don't need to be a Merkley family to attend or volunteer at the Fun Fair. Fun Fair is Friday, April 1st from 6:00 to 8:30.
  • McDonalds House Donations - Deadline is Friday. Any girl bringing in 2+ items will get a patch. We will plan a trip to take donations.
  • Below is a list of upcoming events. I'll still post on Facebook but you'll also have access to a spreadsheet that will have events, deadlines, cost and links to flyers. I'm still working on getting all the information entered.
Cookies
  • We had 31 girls that sold cookies. Our initial order was 4136. Thank you parents for all your help and support. A special thank you to the Julie & Steve Click, Amy & Phil Schereringa, and Yvette & Eric Jania who picked-up and sorted the cookies!
  • The Council will award all troops that sold on average 150+ boxes per girl a Smart Spender Girl Scout Wallet . We are close! We have cookie booths scheduled and please continue to take orders from friends and family. As a group we need to sell a little over 500 more boxes.
  • We still have open spots for girls to sell cookies! Please look at Facebook Page.
  • If your daughter works a cookie both we split the boxes sold and add to their total cookies sold. As you know there is prizes based on the number of cookies sold.
Cookie Profits
  • Our profit from cookies as of today is about $3,000 which comes out to be about $90 per girl. We need to stretch this money throughout the year. This covers outings as well as badges, which are expensive. We have lots of exciting things planned. We alway ask for partial payment for most of our outings and field trips. Why? A few reasons
    • To stretch our money
    • Historically, when the troop paid the cost for an event we saw the number of no-show dramatically increase. We pre-pay most of the events so if we have no-show we lose that money.
